Reality can be hard to digest, but the truth of the hour is that we, as a society, have become extremely money-minded. No matter what the issue at hand is, we naturally tend to look at it through cash-tinted glasses! But this kind of blatant materialism is sadly doing us more harm than good.

Gone are the days when the eagerness to help out a fellowman sprouted put of genuine sympathy and concern. It’s “What am I going to get from it” psychology that is doing rounds nowadays.

This selfish mentality is best reflected in our buying patterns. We want everything out there for ourselves. We see the utility in every knick-knack that is presented to our eyes, and in most situations, end up impulsively buying it out irrespective of its actual worth.

While we sit amidst all our materialistic gizmos and novelties, we do feel happy, of course. Unfortunately, this kind of happiness is very short lived and ends the moment something fancier catches our eye!

It’s time we started to invest ourselves into creating long-lasting happiness. Things that would actually make us content, rather than simply making us feel falsely proud of our possessions.

If for a moment, we could close our eyes and think deeply, we’ll realize that true joy doesn’t even come from things!

It comes from experiences.

It is the experiences in our lives that make it worth the struggle. The joy of getting your first salary, good times spent in the company of good friends, special moments with your dearly beloved, investing in big-ticket items like a home, taking your parents on a vacation, etc . These are what make life beautiful, and not clothes, or phones, or furniture.

I too am guilty when it comes to giving into this rat race of owning and showing off! But, I’ve learned my lesson.

There was one time when I only cared about my comforts. Come salary day, and I would be busy shopping online or in malls hunting for the next best thing to spend my money on. There was no time for family or friends; it was all about me, me and me, and all my things!

But I’m not like that anymore! Here are some tried and tested personal tips that helped me become a better person again:

Let Go Of The Materialism

Just drop it cause it’s that bad!

Materialistic things are things at best! You buy a dress today, tomorrow you’ll forget all about it when you get a newer one. So, just let go of this unhealthy desire to buy everything that you can.

Discover Better Alternatives

Instead of giving in to your materialistic instinct of ownership, learn how to #SmartlyOwn things. If you like to live a comfortable life but don’t want to be put down with the burdens of ownership, opt for  #SubscriptionLifestyle.

Let’s start with your home first! Do you really have to invest in something as basic as home furniture to find happiness? If you’re a practical person, then your answer should be no!

Innovative companies like allow you to get furniture and home appliances on affordable rent for a comfortable rent term. These kinds of arrangements are great, as they not only satisfy your actual needs but also save you from guilt and financial drain.

Live For The Experiences

Make life more happening with moments of togetherness and bonding with your dear ones. Meet new people, listen to their stories, discover new places, click a lot of fun pictures with your pets, go to an amusement park with your friends, and visit your parents often. These are what nostalgia is made of.

Just give these tips a shot for only a few months, and trust me, you’ll actually feel relieved, relaxed and happy for real, for once! Don’t forget to share in the comments below, in case you too have any priceless insights to tell the world!

Today I am going to introduce you to a new world by telling you the importance of reading. A book is a dream that you hold in your hands. Whenever you read a good book, it will either increase your knowledge imaginary power.

I began reading extra books when I was in the second grade. I use to get fascinated with the pictures and the words forming beautiful stories. I was in habit to collect the books to read them. Actually I must admit that the habit of reading is  my mom’s gift. When mom use to go to market and she ask me to stay home and then the only bribe i ask for is the story book  & she bring for me everytime. Slowly and steady family members started calling me a certified book addict.

During vacations,my goal was to read as many as book as possible. Every year I raised my goals and I feel in love with this hobby that I had developed.

You all should know that a book is a device that ignites concentration, Understanding, speaking , vocabulary, imagination and learning. It’d  be as if your brain has been upgraded. Wait, I have one liner perfect for this occasion-“Turn Off the TV and read a book. It’s called thinking outside a box”

I want to pass this habit of reading to my kids as well.

Introducing books to my kids

I have two kids and both are different in nature and interest. When my daughter was  2 year old, I introduce her to some books which were touch and feel book and first library actually a set a of mini 10 books which has  picture and words.
I always ask her to choose the book and most likely she handover me a animal book where there are animals, I use to name each animal and make sound of animal. She love the sound and want me to repeat the same. She soon learned recognizing  animals and their sound . Then we start doing rhyming. My daughter has very good catchy power  . Now a days she is fascinated with princess stories like Cinderella , Rapunzel story and princess and the pea   and after reading them she want to act a drama on them. I never stop my princess and participate too in her imagination .

Now she turn 7 years and she has  lot of stories books to read, encyclopedia to explore new world. She love reading and she keep on adding new book to her book treasure.

Story of My young babies
My son has very small attention span we have to make the reading sessions very dramatic with lots of voice modulations, different voices and actions to make the story come alive and grab his attention for a longer period. we talk and read to him in both English and Hindi so that he gets acquainted with both the languages.

Tips on Reading to your Baby

1. Let them choose book they want to be read , it may the book was read thousand times . its matter of their interest and liking
2. No more distraction business going around no TV,radio or mobile . its your and baby time while reading
3.Relate the story or words with real life example dog, fish, bird, bus. Talk about it that make them understand better the word and its meaning
4.Never give up your patience, we have to be calm. patience what we need more with babies and toddler as they are most distraction and cant do anything in long time span
5.Make sound and in act like story that grab their action and make the story interesting for them
6. Read the book slowly that make babies focus on the story or book

Book reading has bring so many benefit
We often are also snuggling, and laughing and interacting in ways that we wouldn’t be otherwise. We have shared experiences and memories that are enjoyable. They have learned so many different concepts in a fun way. Each session of reading helps them pick one or two new words, gives a boost to their creativity and imagination

Let’s Pass on Some Fun Privileges to Men

I’m writing this blog in honor of what it means to be a woman. I want reach out to all of you beautiful creatures.
Though there are many Privileges that i would like to pass on to men but my favourites would be:

Fathers play a vital role in their kids life but the bond between kid & Mother is strongest in this world.
I couldn’t imagine my day to day life without feeling that spectrum of emotion. I wish men can enjoy that feeling, bond with the child. A feeling of bringing  new life inside to this world. Its the most beautiful feeling. Enjoying baby kicks and flood of new emotions starts floating inside you. You start pampering and starts to take a little more care of yourself. The bond of those 9 months can be seen immediate after the birth, when your child doesn’t leaves you for a second . Even they will desires to accompany you in washroom-“Wherever you go We follow”.

Expressing emotions

Women can express emotion as love , anger, jealous, care and cry too. Women are more expressive than man.
Boys rarely cry its not because they are strong its because they are told to do so from their childhood.
Repress their emotions and hide their tears. When a girl cries , nobody says anything. Society taught us only mantra to raise a strong man is to teach them control their emotions as emotions make you weak.
Crying is not for a males, but yes its the great way to express emotion and your opening heart out.

Friend Request

I bet Girls gather more friend request as compared to men on social platforms.
As a Mom,MY request column shows 100 pending and  my hubby receives not much of request. Every men want attention, wish to add girl in their account. For example: There is a vast difference in comments of a girl and boy.

Smooth Experience

Ouuuchhh….dont you like smooth legs , who loves to be a jungle bear all the time.WAx it men.
Even our kids hate my hubby’s beard, he pricks his beard on our face that make my one year old cry & run to mummy.

Women have more options than men do.  Don’t you agree? This is common dialogue of my hubby. Of course we have lot of option whether it may be of clothing, accessories, purse, footwear, household items. Really and we can’t stick to one thing either,we love variety. We are fashionista ,stylish and trendsetter too.

Being Feminine is beautiful  in itself . ‘F’ for Female, famous ,flaunt, fascinating, figure  what not in Feminism. God has gifted beautiful body and every men keen to set its eye to adore that beauty. Women is God’s master piece.

Holi is festival of colours , a celebration of the victory of virtue and goodness over evil. It is a colorful festival of great joy and enthusiasm. A day filled with complete mischief, fun and enjoyment. everyone is so excited to see each other colourful faces , splash water and colour on each other. But this colour bring some harmful effect on skin and hairs. sharing pre and post holi tips that help you be safe from harsh effect of colours.

Make a mixture of Coconut oil 1 tbsp, castor oil 1 tsp and olive oil 1 tbsp and apply it all over your skin before playing Holi. apply behind the ears, between toes finger and hand fingers and other exposed areas.

Apply a sunscreen (preferably SPF 20 and above) 20 minutes before going out. Most sunscreens have built-in moisturisers but if your skin is very dry, apply sunscreen, wait for a few minutes and follow up with a moisturiser. Apply a lotion on your arms and other exposed areas too.

Use  petroleum jelly on your lips  will work for a longer period of time.

Massage your hair well with oil and tie them up in a bun. This will ensure that the scalp and hair do not absorb colours too easily. In case you have short hair, apply hair gel.You can also wear a bandana.

Drench your cuticles in olive oil so your nails do not soak up any colour. Then, use a thick coat of nail paint on the nails and put Vaseline under the nail edges.

it sound funny that wearing sunglasses for holi . people may think you are acting bit stylish, if so let the world say so. nothing bad in go little cool with sunglasses after all it protect your eyes to colour to go in. who love to have stain near eyes that look like beat bashes.

1.Avoid the use of soaps or face washes as they are alkaline in nature, they will dry your skin. Instead take pure almond oil or coconut oil and massage it on your skin. Then take damp cotton and remove the colors. Once the colors are off take a cold or lukewarm shower and after that moisturize your skin well. If your skin is dry and itchy then massage aloe vera gel before shower.

2.To wash your hair, first rinse with plenty of plain water. Then apply a mild herbal shampoo, working it into the hair with your fingers and massage the scalp gently and rinse thoroughly. Beer can be used as a last rinse. Squeeze juice of a lemon in your mug of beer and pour over your hair. Leave for a few minutes and rinse off with plain water.

3.Sesame seed (til) oil can also help in removing the colours, apart from countering sun damage. Massage your skin with sesame oil and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes or so. While bathing, scrub the body gently with a loofah. Apply a lotion.
To regain smooth, soft skin, mix 2 tbsp honey with half cup curd, add a pinch of turmeric. Apply this paste on your face, neck and arms. Leave for 20 minutes and wash off with water.

– To nourish your hair, mix 1 tbsp pure coconut oil with 1 tsp castor oil. Heat and apply on your hair. Dip a towel in hot water, squeeze out the water and wrap the hot towel around the head, like a turban. Keep it for five minutes. Repeat towel treatment 3-4 times. Wash your hair after an hour.
