Apple Pie is one of the most favourite dishes of Americans, although they are created in British but still heartedly accepted and loved by American’s. European and Asian societies had just fused apples into their dishes a few years earlier, and very soon, they discovered the recipe to make Apple pie. It also became one of their favourites.
This is how apple pie got popularity all over the world. The different territory has done their experiments with the apple pie and made it more versatile. That’s the reason, people from worldwide with different taste have loved this dish. Norway is the country where almost everybody consumes Apple Pie daily.
Items Required to prepare Apple Pie
There are two main items which are required to prepare Apple pie, that is Apple and wheat. Rest of the items are butter, sweets items and things which are added to make it tastier.
Obviously, you will need an apple to make Apple pie. The sweet, delicious natural product we use in the pie isn’t local to North America, which spends significant time crab apples. It began in Kazakhstan. The Romans at that point crossed it with astringent apples utilized for making cider.
Apple Pie Crust Ingredients
- Cold butter -8 tbsp
- Castor Sugar – 1tbsp
- All purpose flour – 2 cup
- Pinch of salt
- Siever the all purpose flour in a bowl.
- Add Sugar in the flour.
- Only use cold butter for pie crust. Add butter into the flour. If you using unsalted butter than don’t add salt separately.
- Mix the butter in the flour with your finger tips. Once the butter incorporated with flour it resembles like bread crumbs.
- Add 1 1/2 chilled water and you just bring dough together without kneading it. Do not add too much of water.
- Once the dough come together. divide it in two parts shaped it as a disc . Now cover it with cling paper or air tight container. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes ,take out the dough. In the work place sprinkle some flour and put your dough to roll out.
- Keep rotating your dough it does not stick to your workplace.
- Keep shaping your sides with hands or scrapper.
- Once you roll out dough, Transfer it in 8″inch pie dish.
- If you think the crust is thin , you can add more dough to it. Once bake it does not matter.
- Press the dough to the edges of pie dish. Any extra dough on the side cut it with knife.14. Once the dough is set , take a fork and prick it. Prick it on the side also. It prevent dough from raising when you bake it.
- Bake it in preheated oven at 180C for 10 minutes.
Apple pie Stuffing Ingredients
- Apple – 4 Medium sized apple (peeled and diced)
- Castor sugar- 60 gms
- Brown sugar – 60 gms
- Cornflour- 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick/Cinnamon powder
- Butter – 3tbsp
- Few drops of Lemon juice
- Heat a pan add butter and now add apples in it.
- Add cinnamon stick/cinnamon powder into the pan so apple get the flavour of cinnamon.
- Now add castor sugar and brown sugar into it. Amount of sugar depend on sweetness of apples.
- Make sure apples are coated well with sugar.
- Cook it for 5 minutes. After few minutes apple start releasing its juice.
- Take out apple juice in another bowl.
- Add 1 tbsp cornflour into apples so all the juice get soaked and evaporate.
- Switch off the gas and add few drops of lemon in it and mix it.
- In another pan heat the apple juice and cook it for 5 minutes. Our apple flavour caramel is ready.
- Now add apple flavour caramel to our apple pieces.
- Mix it well, so it is coated well.
- Let caramelized apple cool down completely.
- Mean while lets make lettuce for pie. Take chilled pie dough and roll it . Cut it in thin strips ,you can use Scale for perfect shape and size.
- Now add our apple pieces in pie crust and remove cinnamon sticks before putting in pie crust. Try not to put too much liquid in crust.
- Lets decorate our pie with long strip we have cut. Cut the excess dough from the sides.
- Bake it in preheated oven at 180C for 35-40 Minutes.
Storing Apple Pie
Crusty fruit-filled Apple Pie will effectively last two or three days, softly secured with saran wrap or aluminum foil, on your counter at room temperature. Keep any wrapping free so that the outside layer can relax. Else it will leave its freshness.
